Tonka CARES presents Eat. Talk. Connect! –a program that encourages families to share at least three meals every week and engage in meaningful conversation. Data supports that one of the most important factors in keeping children healthy and away from drugs and alcohol, is their connection to family.
Recent studies show that children who share at least three meals with their families each week do better in school, experience less stress and depression, have better social skills, are healthier and are less likely to smoke, use drugs or alcohol, or engage in other risky behavior.

Remember – meals don’t have to be an evening dinner. You can focus on connecting at breakfast or lunch too. Build those connections!
